Link Heritage Apartment, Cochin
Link Heritage is a 2800 sq. feet apartment entirely designed in traditional Kerala mansion style. The apartment stands apart as a fine specimen of the successful re-creation of classic old-world charm in a limited area. Complete with wood work, stone pillars and intricate wooden ceilings and floors, the apartment’s interior makes you forget that it is sitting on the 5th floor of a high-rise building.
Four Column Storage Cabinet
A cabinet with four big and small storage compartments is used as a TV console with enough space for all electronic paraphernalia. It sports a minimalistic design with small yet ornate bell-shaped flower carvings and brass knob handles.
Eight Seater Oblong Dinner Table
Perfect for a sumptuous feast, the dinner table is made from teak. Coupled with the high back plush cushion chairs, this dining set alone becomes an asset to home interiors. The corners of the chairs are turned and decorated on either side with floral embellishments.
High Back Royal Sofa
Finished in red jute material, the sofa is designed as a replica of furniture used in royal households of Kerala. With six claw-foot legs, the edges of the seat are adorned with high-relief flower engravings.
Stone Pillars
Medium size round-tapered stone pillars are enclosed within the charupady frame. Sanded to fine smoothness, they stand tall within the area, giving an authentic feel of Kerala architecture.
Wooden Seat with Hand Rail
Popularly known as the Charupady, the seating is similar to that of a sofa. It is a very common seating arrangement found in traditional mansions of Kerala. These seats are recreated in the same fashion. The railings are finely carved and arranged symmetrically to form a veranda inside the house, which serves as a separate TV viewing place in the living room.
Carved Wooden Block Center Table
This is an innovative wooden furniture item. A center table has been fashioned from the capital block, a part of a majestic pillar from a different era. Every inch of it is carved in different motifs and patterns. Revamped and refurbished with a glass top, the center table turns to be an art work rather than a ordinary furniture item.
Embossed Flower Ceiling
A hundred symmetrically aligned wooden squares houses a single flower in each boxed space. The carved flowers are separately embossed on the wood panels. The geometry, light and dark shades of polished wood and the realistic carved flowers alters the look and feel of the room to simple splendour. Several variations of the flower ceilings have been used in the interiors, giving a different as well as continuum to the whole design.
Four Post Beds with Headboard
The bed has a detailed grape vine cluster engraved headboard and fluted columns supporting the top bed frame. The columns of the queen-sized bed rests on an octagonal plinth. The bottom side board features a flower design, carved in a concave circular frame. The other four post beds have been fitted with spiral designed posts and headboard with variety of high relief rosette patterns.
Wooden Study Desk
The desk has three glass-panelled overhead cabins, two storage cabinets on the sides with space for chair. The overhead cabins rest on two carved out ornate wood pieces and the base of the table on two small decorative pillars with leaves and vines carved onto it.
Raised Panel Full Wall Divider with Door
The teak wood divider is designed in a symmetrical pattern of squares within raised panel wooden frames. The door is camouflaged and designed with minimal fittings to give a discreet appearance.
